Before setting up camp, you should make sure you’re allowed to camp where you are. The right to camp in a specific location is regulated and varies depending on the region and country you’re in.

In France, whether or not camping is permitted in a specific location is governed by Article R111-32, which regulates wild camping. Therefore, when you decide to camp in a natural setting, you must first make sure that it is both possible and permitted to do so.

But the most popular places to camp are:
